Baron Foodtech has initiated a pioneering collaboration with LAB University of Applied Sciences by setting up a new test bakery within the Food Pilot Plant at Lahti campus. This strategic enhancement aims to leverage the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities at LAB for rigorous product testing and development, fostering innovation in the baking industry.

During the launch, Baron Foodtech welcomed its initial clients to the newly established bakery, providing a showcase of the plant’s capabilities and discussing future prospects. “The integration of our pilot operations with LAB’s advanced research resources opens up new horizons for product refinement and quality enhancement,” stated Mikko Lehtinen, CEO of Baron Foodtech.

This partnership is also geared towards integrating educational objectives with industry needs. Baron Foodtech plans to support LAB’s upcoming degree program in Process and Materials Engineering by offering internship and job opportunities to students. This will not only provide students with real-world experience but also support Baron Foodtech’s ongoing projects and growth in international markets.

Kirsi Taivalantti, Director of the Faculty of Technology at LAB, emphasized the mutual benefits of this collaboration, noting, “Working alongside Baron Foodtech not only drives technological and educational advancements but also significantly contributes to our strategy of supporting SMEs in reaching global markets.”
